i dont think thats a .map...
oh?

well

when he makes it a .map anyway

oh ho ho! well now, looks like SOMEONES been busy, nice work demian!

send the .map of it all set up with the UV coords and stuff and I'll put it in the OP for others
Why would you want a .map? It's meant to be used in Blender.

i have tried numerous methods to get these recognized by blender, quark, or hammer and none seem to work. i think it's because the .dae is just one object which registers as concave. i would love to use these for scaling purposes for future map design but i do not think it will ever be used. Whoever exported these as a .dae, i believe the new torque supports .dae as interior files? can you try importing them again after converting them?
I imported the .dae file with Blender 2.5 just fine. Do you have the correct Python? You will never get these to constructor though, one would be insane to go through the entire model and split it into convex objects.

I disagree, convex is easy to set up in a model for exporting as an interior

The whole purpose is to get someone to make a working version, post the .map for other map creators to dig in and add the rooms and other stuff they've always wanted to see in bedroom

You are loving kidding me right? The god damn bed alone has more than 50 convex shapes. It would take days of work to slice the whole Bedroom to convex shapes.

But why a .map? Besides people can already dig and add other rooms..

huh?....I mean so they can play it ingame :/

Difficult? no, I fully understand convex shapes and how to set them up now, Time consuming, yes

i have it in blender, i meant i can't get it recognized as a brush shape. i also meant to say constructor not blender.

A .map of the Bedroom is useless as it is a concave object. It would take days to slice it to convex objects.

That's because it is one concave object in Blender. In order to get it into Constructor you need slice the entire Bedroom into hundreds of convex shapes.

yea i already know that and i've already said that. i still need to know about the face flip in constructor/hammer so i can start making maps better.

I do to. I've just been using CSG Hollow for the walls.

there is no face flip, the faces you see are just invisible, using a certain texture that constructor defines as the "blank.png" of interiors

how come it exports as flat faces then? the outside bedroom walls just appear completely flat and one sided

NO, DIF INTERIORS DO NOT SUPPORT TRANSPARENCY. DO NOT TRY TO SAY OTHERWISE.

i just exported a cube with null applied to some sides and it hides those sides. it supports nodraw faces but not actual translucent faces.

Beats me, but upon exporting as .map again, that one face forms a back side, and turns into a cubed box

yea this is really confusing me as well. i am trying hard to figure out how to get this to work, if badspot is even doing it like that or it is just the exporter. I originally though all the outside walls connected to the interior creating some huge brush mess. Then I though that they were flat faces, but now i am leaning towards the first one again because when you f8 inside the walls and then f7, go in third person and it acts like a brush is there except you are just clipped inside it.

This is why i really wish the map files were actually released or these questions were answered by badspot or wedge or whoever.
