yea this is really confusing me as well. i am trying hard to figure out how to get this to work, if badspot is even doing it like that or it is just the exporter. I originally though all the outside walls connected to the interior creating some huge brush mess. Then I though that they were flat faces, but now i am leaning towards the first one again because when you f8 inside the walls and then f7, go in third person and it acts like a brush is there except you are just clipped inside it.

This is why i really wish the map files were actually released or these questions were answered by badspot or wedge or whoever.
I sent badspot a PM of some of the questions we have, what program the maps were created in, what exporter, etc

i'm pretty sure you can't flip faces or create flat planes in hammer. basically all that is left then is a complex cube maze. this is killing me on the inside because i really want to start making interior maps but getting the walls to align to the interior and secrets (basically making it so there are not weird gaps in the house, see: bathroom) without making it look weird is really annoying.

using the null texture i managed to make it look similar, but it is still two sided unlike the bedroom walls.

i was messing around with the bedroom .blend when i decided i should look at the last secret of the bedroom. it's just a cube, except the thing is, in game the normals are reversed so the cube faces in, not out. how was this even accomplished?

Converter doesen't convert the same normals the actual model has I guess :o

no. what i'm saying it the normals face in. how did badspot make the normals face in.

Bump, I think I've got a solution

if someone can get the maps into Hammer, and export as .map from there (blenders .map exporter cannot handle it for some odd reason) it should all export correctly (at least thats how badspot did it)

I really want to edit these. Will put into Constructor soon, I suck at Blender.

Also, I know I've flipped the normals on accident in Constructor before, just not sure how.

You could flip the normals in Blender.

I know that I've been using blender for 2 years

lolbump? has anyone figured out how to get the models into hammer yet?
