Author Topic: .mid files and Google Chrome  (Read 642 times)

alright, so I'm using my laptop that has Windows 7 which used to be my mom's boyfriend's
he's a complete dumpass when it comes to software, whether he has a degree in computer engineering or not
on my other computer that has XP, going to the source page of a midi file acts just like going to the source page for a wave or MP3 file, with that black rectangle with a play button and time bar (pictured at the bottom of this post)
but on this computer, going to the source page for a midi file just wants me to use a QuickTime plugin, and since I don't like QuickTime and uninstalled it, it says "missing plugin"
before uninstalling it, it worked fine
for listening to the file, that is, which is not what I'm trying to do
I'm trying to save it, and it wouldn't let me do that before uninstalling QuickTime either
now MP3 source pages work just fine, though

Have you tried just right clicking and using 'save as' rather than opening it as a page?

the specific ones I'm trying to save lead to redirecting ads rather than directly to the source page

Have you tried right clicking the link and hitting save target as?

You tried right clicking on the music player that pops up and clicking save as?

it wont let me right click on the missing plugin page

I reinstalled QT again but still the only thing I can do is listen to it
forgetass computer
I guess I'll just do it later if no one comes up with a solution
