Author Topic: I don't have a "Host" or "Host.msn" file in my (C:):Windows:System32:drivers:etc  (Read 726 times)

And I need it. Can someone PLEASE help?

The host file is a .txt document that has nothing in it except for some excluded text that only serves as a guide telling you to put an IP in it to make something happen.
You really, really don't need one

No, it is to stop Battlefield 3 from "Disconnected from EA Online"ing me. I need it, and to find it.

Whatever you say.
Not sure if mine will work if you have an OS besides Win7 64bit though;

I've got an Vista 64 bit and I think my info needs to be there to stop this problem

Should be fine, looks like the contents of that file hasn't been changed through releases since it was first made in 1993

So the "Disconnected from EA Online" problem can be solved?

How should I know? I don't play any of the Battlefield games.

You said you need it, so there it is

A hosts.txt file only overrides DNS lookups.
I don't think that would solve your problem, cause if BF3 relies on that file, that is REALLY stuffty programming.
