it depends on how many views your videos get
they put ads on your video(s), and the amount depending on how many views you get(aka how many people see the ad), you get money

and YouTube's not going to give you a good amount
so unless you're like RWJ or something and get a good amount of views, it wont be worth making viewers watch ads

the program requirements require you to only use content you created yourself or that you have gained permission to use

so basically in terms of music you'll have to use newgrounds or learn FL Studio or some stuff if you don't feel like emailing artists for permission to use their stuff.

Everyone gets that, I have 5 subscribers on one channel (http://www.youtube.com/coltenbl) and 21 on the other (http://www.youtube.com/colten95), and both have gotten the invitation. I didnt bother with it because its just an application that gets sent out automatically and I know I dont get nearly enough viewers for it to even be profitable for them, so they wouldnt accept it

In laymens terms basically you will be allowed to have advertisements displayed on your videos and you can choose which individual videos to be monetized but the videos can NOT have ANY copyrighted material without proper consent.
