Author Topic: I dont understand the comments on COD youtube videos.  (Read 1745 times)

Serious
why are people like
"GR8 DLC RIGHT HER FOCKS"

"DUDE SAE THING"

Seriously
why are they even watching the videos if you dont even care for COD
its like going onto a Justin Bieber video.

They dont have to play COD.

Imo its just one less complaining idiot playing it
just pisses me off

I need one person who I will pay 5 dollars a month to give me a decent rating of any mainstream games that come out without any bias or discrimination.

cowadooty excluded.

/agree
Most comments on COD videos are about how much better battlefield is when they haven't even played MW3.

IMO

even playing in HD (not on pc though)
Battlefield 3 graphics arent much better
but the gameplay is great and I love destructible environments

One problem. Idiots are going to spray enemies behind cover then complain when theres no more cover for them to cower behind.

On a lighter note, I'm not ruining your topic.

I really think they did a good job
I like how the maps feel "round"
where there are almost no camping spots
and I cant wait till Im playing with my buddies
I think the multiplayer is gonna be incredible
It just makes me more excited for the next one (Hopefully they'll spend a few years and develop a new engine)

Which would make for a great map pack, not another 60 dollar game.

Wouldn't have gotten it even if it wasn't the same as MW2 according to that video guy.

BF3 looked promising at E3 last year, how is it?

Immensely overhyped.
Still really fun though.

I really couldn't give half a stuff about the whole "battlefield versus call of duty" bullstuff going on.

Modern Warfare (looking at the second one, mostly) is a repetitive dumb shooter created on a decade-old engine that uses horrid dated graphics and has the biggest lack of a sense of balance in the history of all video games ever created in the world.

Battlefield (judging by the third one, at least) has the worst loving netcode ever; if someone shoots you in the head on their screen, but on yours you duck behind cover, that's too loving bad, because their shots are always counted before your movements. It may have new-gen graphics that certainly raise the bar, great playability, and a plethora of game modes and weapons, but that doesn't matter if the person shooting at you has 200 ping, because, no matter what you do, you're dead.

Some of the people who say that actually do care about CoD and are disappointed with what it's become.
My thoughts exactly.

Without emphasizing through big lettering, could you churn peoples opinions by simply using good vocabulary and sentence skills?
just kidding bro, you could do whatever you want

I wouldn't say it had the worst netcode but the way it calculates pings from the server browser is incredibly flawed.  Me and my friends on the west coast always have a hard-ass time finding a good server for all of us because a server will say "30 ping" in the server browser but in reality its more like 120+.  It's really awkward like that but if I play alone without them and join an east coast server at around 10 ping I'll get 50-60 and play decently.

I hate snipers like loving hell in Battlefield though.  I hate them all.  Regardless, it's still fun and I still enjoy it sometimes.

I've played MW3 and I've asked all my friends who own it what they think (and they're all pretty big CoD fans).  We're all pretty much saying the same thing.  90% recycled with a very few new bells and whistles.  The UI and main menu itself is straight out of MW2.  They pretty much lied when they said they did more than "update the graphics and throw in more guns".  Guns still sound like little backyard birthday party goody bag toys, textures still look half-assed, they even recycled from mw1.

Call of Duty as a franchise has fallen victim to Bobby Kotick finally.  There may be huge sales and profits for Activision/IW but in the end everyone is disappointed.  If I were an IW developer I'd be disappointed too.  The only seriously new content in this game is probably the audio dialogues.

EDIT:  Actually, I'd be ashamed if I was part of IW and worked on MW3.  I'd probably try to avoid it in a job interview for another developer company.  Maybe one that isn't the bitch of an starfish publisher.

I've been playing BF since 2007 and this is more or less correct. Especially for BC2 and BF3.

This on the other hand is a crock of stuff. If anything, the hitting is registered way after the movements. I can't count how many times I've shot a guy only for him to run around the corner and pop me as I follow.

I'm sorry that you don't agree, but it's a very true statement; you probably just haven't played Battlefield 3 enough to notice it. If I'm getting shot at and I run around a corner, I plop dead once I'm completely around the corner, all the way out of that person's field of view. If I'm getting shot at and, like aforementioned, duck below cover, I die even if the cover is impenetrable. It's the netcode; it's badly done and should be redone. The shots are client-based and should instead be server-based. I don't care if some starfish always connects to a server with 200 ping; he shouldn't be cracking off shots around corners like he's got a wallhack and infinite penetrating bullets.
