Author Topic: School funding cut.  (Read 1659 times)

My school has lots of fundraisers people actually do.
There were budget cuts in the entire district but nothing really affected me, they might have lowered pay, and they sent 4 teachers I knew off to a different school to teach, which sucks, because they were cool.

Apparently I misheard something, the results were; 2,493 to 2,184.

That sucks.

richcigarette, lol.
my friend goes to public school and they gave the 8th graders iPads for the year
it was the worst decision they could possibly make to do with their money but hey their waste of money is fine with me

it was really sad though

also:
Really, the afterschool room has two PS2s, a wii, and an Xbox 360 slim with a kinect. Plus there are iPads for every student in a classroom (about 20 per classroom)
lol wtf i pay to go to a school with a really highly intensive educational program and then our afterschool room has one gamecube that only seniors are allowed to use .-.

This is my response to this topic

Also what state are you in? Iowa has great funding.

Added the newspaper link to the OP.

Minnesota.

Oh yeah of course, Minnesota basically just shut down because your government is handicapped.

I never understood why some things like sports and classes like auto-tech were taught in school. It seems like it would be much better if it was split and supported by the city, if they wanted sports and the like, instead of having the schools fund it.

Just my opinion, no raging sports cigarettes please.

No kidding, it's become evident since I've lived here for like four years now lol.

Caution join the club.

Jesus, that's even worse. It's stupid to be expected to cut that much from a budget and still get a true education. I believe we shut down the middle school a while back and integrated everything into the senior high like how your elementary apparently did.

It's fine, everything like that was elective. People like all the things that might be getting cut. All of those things would look great on a job application or college application, but without them, it isn't cool at all.

Apparently there's also talks of eliminating AP classes.

Pretty much this.
There's no educational value in it, it's just sports.

I live in wales, and most schools here pressure kids into playing rugby and being muscular by force.

Still, you shouldn't give them said programs then pull them from under their feet. Which is why people get upset about losing electives.

Is District 9 still okay?
Also, is this in America?

My school never gets enough funding, but not that bad. Our school recently got a sweet deal on miss-cut Chinese Metric Paper, and It broke all the copy machines but one. Our school fundraisers couldn't be stupider, and the only thing I'm looking forward to this year is the "Field Trip" where they cart us down to D.C. and let us go nuts for a day.

Your school is really down the stuffter though.
