I watched the movies and the first season of SAC with my brother. We wanted to finish Hellsing Ultimate and Macross 7 before we watched 2nd GIG, Solid State Society, and the compilations.

...we ended up watching Maid Guy instead of watching the last episode or two of Hellsing Ultimate.
