It has taken me a couple of months, but I have realized that I seriously disliked Char's Counterattack. Yes, it was necessary to end the rivalry between Char and Amuro, but god damn it was done badly. Don't get me wrong, the animation was great and the Nu Gundam and Sazabi are badass...but Hathaway and Quess killed the entire loving movie. Man, forget Quess. forget Hathaway. Why the forget is that kid so stupid if he's the son of BRIGHT loving NOA?! And Quess. What a cold, heartless bitch.
In my happy place, Gundam Evolve 5 is what really happens to Quess because it makes her much more likable and somewhat redeems her character.
But the main problem was the pacing and Char's, well, counterattack. Pacing was too fast. For Char, he disappears at the end of Zeta. Yeah, we got that...but in Zeta he was a loving BOSS. The second lead character. He was loving AWESOME. And not a little BITCH. Did disappearing for 6 years REALLY turn you into a cranky starfish that wants to throw giant rocks at Earth? I don't understand how you go from an Obi-Wan style mentor to throwing a giant tantrum after nobody knows what the forget you were doing.
