Not really. Higher pixels per inch, before a certain point at least, will look sharper. Probably anything too much higher than the Nexus 7's 323 PPI will suffer from diminishing returns, but up until then, images will look markedly sharper.

I watch anime all the time on an iPad, it isn't that bad. I can comfortly relax anywhere I want to and watch stuff.
