It just doesn't make sense how you've watched Trigun and not Bebop. They're pretty similar from what I've seen (though Bebop is a little more serious in terms of the plotline). You mentioned somewhere you never made it past ep 3, so you JUST missed the absolute point of loving AWESOME that is episode 5. That's where the show seriously picks up.

Ballad of Fallen Angels and Heavy Metal Queen. Hands down, the best episodes of Bebop.

The absolute worst series of the summer 2013 season, C3-bu. Not to be confused with Cube x Cursed x Curious.
