As far as Mahouka, I had no idea the protagonist was so OP until episode 5 or so, and even then I enjoy overly powerful main characters.
It's clear from the very beginning that no other character in the ENTIRE series even comes close to being as powerful as he is. But he's somehow considered socially inferior despite being the only character that can do (or cause) anything notable? Yeah ok. The whole thing with the social classes is stupid and clearly pointless.
I can think of a few other overly powerful main characters that are a hell of a lot more enjoyable to watch.
As for character development, it's practically impossible to have any sort of development for a character as intensely reserved as Shiba.
That's dumb as stuff. Having a stoic or "reserved" character isn't an excuse to not develop a character. Not that he needs it anyway, since he's literally a loving robot with reset routines and stuff.
The plot seemed logical enough, you'd have to explain that one to me.
The events themselves more or less made sense, but it was loving stupid and it jumped all over the place.
