Any recommendations for mech anime or similar posted below that doesn't have a completely handicapped plot?
So far I watched Eureka 7, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Code Geass.
I looked at the Gundams, haven't watched any of them, and for some weird reason I just can't get into into them.

Force yourself to watch the first 13 EPs or so of Gundam 0079, it picks up somewhere around there.

I liked it. Now that I think of it, yeah it was weird, but I was just so into it I honestly didn't look at any of the flaws in the plot.
But it wasn't completely stupid, aka cringe worthy.

This was a good one. The sequels and spin offs are suck, Mellow link is alright. I can't speak for Pailsen files.

War in the Pocket is short and a good start. However if you are up to it start with the origional Mobile Suit Gundam. MS 8th team is great, 0083 stardust assault is good.
