Agreed. Bribing people implies that your clan is not good enough for anyone to want to join it and that you are desperate for members.

I could simply join this, get a free BANNED add-on, then leave the clan. You realize people can do that, right? You aren't even descriptive about what this clan is.

If that was the case, your ass would be worked off 24/7 because stuffloads of n00bs just waltzed right in and asked for an add-on of sorts. By the time you gave it to them, it's a big slap in the face and they leave the clan.
