need help with blender software

I have had the software blender for a while now, but every time I install the disk in to my computer to give it a try I always give cuz I have no idea where to even begin. I have searched countless tutorials and nothing really helps. is there any one that could possibly help me out with the software or post a link to any decent tutorial videos.

If I just posted this saying that I have it on disk than obviously it dose. Maybe it doesn't any more but my stepfather got this complete 4-cd software set for me a long time ago and yes it dose have a blender animation disk inside of the set. Regardless even if it didn't I still have it on my computer and my point is that I need help with it, so your comment is pretty pointless. From here on out can the rest of the comments be useful please.
