Playing Steam games without an internet connection?

my dad has no internet at his house and I want to play Gmod there
and you can't play Steam games without Steam, and offline mode doesn't work without the account credentials being saved on the computer
if someone knows a way to start the games without Steam having to be on, could you please tell me?
an alternative would be to tell me the file that I could move from one computer to the other that contains the account credentials so that they would be on that computer as well

You log in to Steam while connected to the internet.


You need an internet connection for Steam to verify your account credentials.  Have it save your password, then make sure your games can run without updating and etc.  Once you've done that, you can disconnect or restart steam without internet and it will ask if you want to go in offline mode.
