Author Topic: need some help with source sdk (hammer editor)  (Read 578 times)

seriously, this is annoying.
couldnt find anywhere else for help about this.

on source sdk i was making a simple map for testing bot navigation.

i saved it, ran the map (through hammer) and it froze while it was launching it.
i mean seriously, it took up stuffloads of memory, even after i ended its process.

what i mean is, i tried to go to youtube after that. it wouldnt load. had to wait 5 minutes.
i restarted my computer, tried again in tons of different ways, and still did the same thing.

i opened up hammer again and it was as laggy as forget.
and it does the same thing (crashing on run map)

i also tried getting the map files into css (thats the game for the map im making). it worked, but it also didnt.

since the lighting and the nav_mesh was all forgeted up.

anyone else get this or know how to solve it?
also, im temporarily back.

Could you give us some more information? Maybe even a copy of the map and a log of the compiling process?

its freezes on the "portal maps" thing.

i also cannot make any more maps.

Try compiling without RAD or VIS and see if it still forgets up, or have you tried that?
