A business teacher I had in grade 11 gave us an assignment that required us to write out 40 or so HTML tags, by hand, with descriptions, and neatly formatted in a table. I asked her why we couldn't simply type it in word and save ourselves a lot of work. She explained that we would simply copy+paste the answers from a web site. I told her that making people write it out by hand wouldn't prevent this, it would simply make the assignment tedious.
I never did that assignment, as well as a few others. It was insulting and wasn't assessing anything I had learned. The funniest part about it was that, after handing the marked assignments back, she said that people could re-do the assignment, due to the assignments low average score, for 50% instead of 100%. I never understood what made her think that people who didn't do it the first time for full marks would do it the second time for only half the marks. She was the only teacher I had a lot of problems with. She actually called my parents saying that I was a disruptive student when I wasn't.
