Riddler was also an amazing speaker. Being a good speaker doesn't really say much.
i c wat u did thar

Again, fairly reasonable points.

On one hand, Wedge is right, the comparison is a bit extreme and the hyperbole made may overpower point you intended. However, on the other hand, in any casual conversation or remark, exaggeration is common. And though perhaps not greatly rhetorical, the point you were trying to make was adequately expressed. Unfortunately, due to the nature of expressing it, several other perspectives can be drawn from it as well. Therefrom is part of Wedge's argument.

Hmm...

Except for the fact that the point of the comparison was to explain how drastically different they are, yet still share one thing in common. Meaning that the thing in common doesn't really mean anything.

I don't understand how the statement, "Being a good speaker doesn't really say much." equates to "Being a speaker means you are Riddler." They are nearly opposites.

Maybe if people weren't so quick to jump on someone's back after they made an unintentionally ambiguous statement and bothered to ask for clarity this wouldn't have happened.

but speaking well DOES mean something lol
how dumb are you

What does it mean towards someone's character?

A valid point.

Well now to be fair, he did later say that any comparison involving Riddler is more often than not ridiculous, not just in cases your equating one person to "be" Riddler.

you are literally the person who said "being a speaker means you are like Riddler"
go try and say that stuff to a jew who survived the holocaust and see what happens

What does it mean towards someone's character?

no one ever claimed it said anything about character....
it just means you're smart, clear, good to listen to, and probably have more influence than other people..

That wasn't the argument being made. Read through the last two pages if you want to get involved, please. This debate requires background information and at least level 3 Rhetoric. :o

I suppose next time I'll make extra sure that I include all of the hidden claims because you can't trust people to fill them in. People see the word 'Riddler' and suddenly everything you say is insane.

no one ever claimed it said anything about character....
I just explained how the supporting piece to my argument was that Riddler and Obama are different people. Usually when people say different people they mean character wise. So "the ability to speak does not have a big effect on character" was my argument.

You were the one who claimed that what I said was false. Usually when you claim something is false you counter the supporting evidence. In this case that would mean saying that the ability to speak has an effect of character.

at least level 3 Rhetoric. :o

which doomonkey definitely doesnt have

He has level 4. Unfortunately for him, Wedge is like level 93, so....

well wedge's level is irrelevant, what's important here is that wedge is smart and doomonkey isn't
