Author Topic: Kindle Fire vs Nook Color  (Read 838 times)

I want one for Christmas but I can't decide which to get.

Kindle Fire
Nook Color
Both seem pretty good and I'm kinda leaning towards the Kindle. Has anyone played with both to see which is better?

Why would I need it though?
you don't
the only time you would really be using it is for YouTube, and the Kindle probably has something to compensate for it's lack of Flash, just like the iPhones do

Nook.
It Supports Flash

I am pretty sure kindle supports flash, I watch youtube videos and stuff on it isn't that flash?

I thought these product lines were going to stay book readers, not turn into tablets.

I now have no belief that anything will stay what it is, and it will all turn into something more like a tablet.

if it doesn't have Flash, like I said it probably has compensation

No, it is not using the Flash player. The kindle probably uses the mobile YT which bypasses the need for flash at the comprimise of speed.

Oh so you own a Kindle Fire? How is internet browsing on it? Is it as fast as claimed?

Well it is waaayy better this way. You have an e-reader, something you can browse the web, play games etc. all built in one.

I just checked the website and it definitely supports flash wtf are you guys smoking. I bought my mom a kindle fire for early x-mas and it is lightning fast, every website I go to no matter how much stuff on it is instant load and videos and games play lag-free.

I stand corrected then. Perhaps it does do fash. Possibly some type of HTML?

Nook is great. I've never used a Kindle Fire, but my Nook Color has worked perfectly for about a year and a half now. Great product.
