Author Topic: having problems with my computer's sound  (Read 701 times)

recently my computer has stopped playing any sound through headphones or otherwise that is plugged into the audio jack
even more recently it wont even do it from its own speakers
does anyone know what might be the problem?
it might be the sound card, or maybe drivers, I don't know
it's a Fujitsu LifeBook with the model "number" A6025

oh and just in case anyone complains about not asking in Ethan's thread, I did, and then mentioned it three times afterwards
disregard this

do you think I am a dumbass or something

Make sure the sound isn't selected to be outputting through any device that could be but isn't limited to: SPDIF, HDMI Audio, and make sure it's outputting to Line Out, Speakers, or Headphones.

Maybe it has something to do with your soundcard.

Hold on, we will get you to professional help. Please hold.

Speakers and Headphones are the only two things available

Sounds like the sound card.
What OS do you have? e.g Windows Vista 64-bit or Windows 7 32-bit.

Right click on 'My Computer', select 'Properties', then on the left select 'Device Manager'.
Under 'Sound Devices' or similar, you will find your audio drivers. I believe the manufacturer for the Fujitsu A6025 audio soundcard is Realtek, so the entry you are looking for should be labelled 'Realtek'.
Right click > 'Properties' > 'Driver' > 'Uninstall'.

Then, install the drivers from below:

http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/supportsearch.do

Install the first drivers on the list, labelled 'Audio'.
Report back with results.

I downloaded the driver for my model and it just said "no supported driver in this package" or something like that
"No Driver was supported in this package"
the download page said "Windows Vista compatible drivers," not sure if that might be a problem or not

That's weird.
Try look around the site for a Windows 7 version if it exists.
