Hey everyone. I want to start creating electronic music. I'm gonna buy some basic equipment soon and I want to know what I should get and if anyone has any tips.

I have Fruity Loops 10 and Ableton but I'm not sure which I should use. I'm buying a Launchpad in the next month or two, do I need to use Ableton for that?

And is there anyone that would like talk to me on Steam or something about my questions and stuffs?

do not start out with getting equipment. get used to the software first.

launchpads work with the latest beta of FL Studio so no, you don't absolutely need Ableton. also FL Studio >>> Ableton.

Yeah. I thought I'd need to get used to the software, but christmas is coming up so I just put it on my list.
It'll be at least a month until I get it.

Holy forget I love how Stephen Walking incorporates pure bass with a slight ethnic twinge and it sounds bEautiful.

And..eh..Tristam I dont like so much.

I very strongly disagree.

They're also used for pretty much completely different things. Yeah, you can use Live as a studio DAW and produce music with it, but the reason it exists is live performance. If you performed live with FL Studio and someone saw you doing that they'd laugh at you. The Launchpad is also pretty live performance focused too, there's little use for it in a production studio.

right but that's exactly what Image-Line is working on with FL Studio 11, live performance. and in my personal opinion, it's quite a lot more straightforward than Ableton.

It'll be the first version of it supporting live performance, running against literally the industry standard for live performance. It won't compare. It just won't.

we'll see.

in other news, Monsta's debut EP has just been released on iTunes, with remixes from Skrillex & Nero, Dillon Francis & Kill Paris, and Alvin Risk!

go get it here

omfg the remixes are sick as stuff

originals are pretty good too but I personally like the remixes more
