Author Topic: Trying to convert some Mp4s to DVD compatability.  (Read 671 times)

I'm looking for some help converting files, if anyone has any experience. Right now they're MP4s and play in windows media player, but I'm trying to get them to be compatible with Window's DVD maker, and I need a converter. Right now I'm using SUPER and having nearly no experience in converting, I don't want to mess these up and ruin my 4gb blank disks with crap. So does anyone know a free easy to use converter, and any tips on converting? I'm trying to avoid losing quality and whatnot.

you should convert them to .AVI or .MOV, whichever. I'm slightly clueless as to how your going to go about doing that though.

what format do they need to be converted to?

Basically any file compatable within Window's DVD maker, I don't have a list but things like MOV or AVI will work.

Couldn't you just export it through Windows Movie Maker to get your desired filetype, then load it onto Windows DVD Maker? or use InfraRecorder

I don't think that would work very well, either way it would take forever. I have 26 things to convert.

Try Sourceforge for some open-source conversion tools. I have one from there that can convert most videos to loads of different settings/file containers/codecs.
