It doesn't have that feeling of Blockland when I open it up, that saddens me. I like it though.

No i mean the "browser" tabs at the very top.
Oh.
Those are just my regular browser tabs. :cookieMonster:

Why does it show the new version but its not released?

Because it's almost time for private beta-testing.

Anyone feeling like beta-testing BOS5 (and probably any future versions)?

*raises hand*

When will the new version be coming out?

Pick me :o

Guy whos not good for beta testing ^

When will the new version be coming out?
When:
  • Brian finishes the JSON parser, and
  • it's tested to have no significant bugs

Which means that we are currrently searching for beta-testers, which will get it by PM when Brian finishes the JSON-parser. Then they'll get new beta releases through the auto-updater after they sign up to the site (and I, Fluffy or Brian gives them the right flag in the system).

The initial one works like this because:
  • You have to have used BOS5 at least once before you can sign up to the server, and
  • The update server was changed. 4.8 users (which use the old server) will still get auto-updated to 5.0 though when it's publicly released.

Also, there isn't a hard limit on how many people will be in the beta.

Amazing job, I think this is a huge leap in the ability of Blockland.
