Its not a fad, its just everyone decorating their avatars for halloweenI made my avatar for christmas last year :P
Santa started it. Him and Jesus were making stockings when Moses came in with extra cotton and they could put a ball on top. Of course, they all were a bit loopy from the eggnog so they wore them on their heads.True story.
