Author Topic: My dog is pissed/scared of me  (Read 927 times)

So basically I was playing fetch with him in the house with a rope toy. I threw the toy, and he ended up running right into it, hitting him straight on the head. I threw it kind of hard, so now he's afraid of me and the rope toy. It makes me feel really bad inside.
what do? :c

BTW he's a 6 month old Golden Retriever.

Twice I thought you said rape toy

The doge will be fine by tomorrow.

My aunt accidentally threw my other aunts puppy at the wall, now it's scared of her.

Just call it and try to pet it. Show it some love and compassion.

how do you accidentally throw a dog at a wall

It definitely sounds as though your puppy is extremely anxious around you, and is afraid. Puppies with a gentle, non-dominant nature react by becoming fearful and anxious, in extreme cases this anxiety can become a fear-based aggression. Is your puppy young? If so, if you treat this problem correctly you should be able to help her to 'forget' your harsh treatment of her (dogs are amazingly forgiving) and feel less anxious around you. Crouch down beside her whenever possible, you will seem less threatening that way. I would recommend that you slowly start to spend 'fun time' with her. Once (s)he is feeling more comfortable around you again, you should become the 'fun guy' for a while. It took time for your puppy to learn to be scared of you, and it will take time for her to learn to trust you again. You need to be patient, and loving, and give her a chance to learn about you all over again.

She was sleeping and the dog (tiny dog) walked up and started licking her face and she looked up and shat then shoved it away, and it went flying into a wall...
