Author Topic: loving prank calls - How can I track Voicemail? (Previously: Fingerhut)  (Read 2984 times)

Ever since my Dad's phone got stolen because he's always leave his car doors unlocked and all his valuables inside, I've been getting phone calls from an odd number. Now, I never EVER use phones. I only have one because my parents made me get it. As such, I have the call warnings of sound and vibration completely off all the time. I will look at my phone at random and see Missed Calls from this number. I ran it through some sites, and got this list:

http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=phone%3A%22%28877%29+503-6145%22+&phone=%28877%29+503-6145&meta=pplt%3Dr&fr=php-rplu

The first link says it's a scam called Fingerhut. I don't know how the forget they got my number, but their stuff has been going on for at least a year now. What bothers me is it started right after my father lost his phones and then waited over a week before actually doing something about it. I feel like whoever stole the phone registered at least me to this stuff, and it pisses me off to no end since we always warned Dad to lock the loving doors. Now I'm suffering the mild, slow, but PROLONGED way. As I know nothing about phones, hating them, I'll see if my Sister or Mom can work donotcall.gov or whatever with this.

Edit: Rewrote in a calmer fashion, although the second paragraph still shows rage.

I've been getting tons of blank voicemail, and going through them, I found one that kept clipping in sounding like a room full of people. Then there was one with a guy laughing with others saying snake. I am loving outraged this has not yet been stopped. I do not personally own the phone, so I must wait for my family to get up and help me find a way to stop this. Is there a way to track where Voicemail is coming from? There's an option for envelope information on voice messages, but that's obviously handicapped. I'm going to try to go to Verizon with my mom tomorrow to see what can be done, but right now I'm just pissed out of my loving mind that I have anything like this happening to me. It's that old "I don't care, but the fact they think I care pisses me the forget off."

I'm just saying whats so bad about a random scam calling you? Can't you just ignore it?

Im guessing your reason for hating phones is your lack of friends?

I get at least two calls from it a day. It's spamming my loving phone.

I've always been nervous on phones, literally couldn't speak. I can go on the phone now if I'm utterly forced, like my brother wanting to talk (He's a bitch if I don't), but I still hate it.

IIRC you can blacklist people if it is an android device using the application called "sanity".

If a ~£50 phone is a rich people phone, what is a poor people phone?

A shoe i stole from a hobo.
I drew numbers on it in blood.

Just block the number. Tell the phone to ignore incoming calls from that number and not notify you.

i don't think you can do that, but you can call up the service provider and get them to do it.
