Author Topic: Boss Battles - Six years...  (Read 1991057 times)

I've administrated on SS13, Minecraft, Blockland, Terraria, and numerous websites by Max4344.
You're saying the only experience that counts is my BL experience?
Only other server I've administrated besides mine and Pecon's is Crown's, lol.

it's crowns so it doesnt count

I keep telling you, A base hp of 300, ramp of 20, and curve of 10 is a horribly low amount of health. You do not possess the clairvoyance needed to accurately determine a balanced health value before any testing.

Also, there is no "j" in any form of "suggest." I don't usually point this out but at this point it's safe to assume that it's not a typo.

Space Guy has jumpjets

They should be used to get out of situations

The weapons are powerful, a long ranged blaster, a strong pistol, and the Buster Gun.

Its all worth it, hey, Mocheeze has 15 Base Hp, 5 Per player, and no curve

AND HES STILL BEING USED

Samus has high speed and can fire rockets that can kill a scout in one hit. She also has a ranged weapon with a high rate of fire. She has roughly three times the health you propose for your boss, when calculated at thirty players.

I'm glad you mentioned Mocheeze, because the more I think about it, the more I realize it's a great comparison that shows that you have no idea what you're doing. Mocheeze is a broken boss. 4/5 times he'll get massacred in a heartbeat. Other times a skilled player can actually use him successfully. If he gets more health, those skilled players become unbeatable, and he can hardly have any less. We've announced our plans to remove him several times. This is probably what your proposed Space Guy boss would be like: powerful, but in the hands of anyone but an expert, completely worthless.

Mind putting the model up for download then?
Or you could just leave it in in a little subsection of 'bosses that suck in the hands of everyone but the skilled'. XD

Yeah, we should make a little peanut gallery of failure bosses.

-Riddler (Jetz will question me immediately about this)

Mocheeze - Removed for being impossible to balance and the model was hideous.
Skill4Life - Removed because the events decided to fall asleep on the job whenever the brick owner left.
PowerDag - Removed after one day because nobody authorized that ego-trip.
Space Guy - Wasn't ever really a boss.
SuperRiddler - Ignored as an idea, died in one round upon being implemented anyway, NOW HE SEEKS HIS REVENGE.

Edit: Oh yeah, I remember the Dragon Queen.
Dragon Queen - Evented. Same problem as Skill4Life, also I believe it had absurdly low health.

why wont you just try out increasing mocheeze's health just a bit

After playing him, I can see why you shot down his health as he's pretty op if you know how to use him. However, the current health levels are just unplayable.

I suggest changing base HP to 20-25, and increasing HP per player to 10. No HP curve.

Jetz, there actually was a "Riddler" boss at one point.

I also suggested a SuperRiddler boss like five times. Never knew that though. You've kinda been here longer than me.

Yay! :D
I think Skill4Life could be reimplemented if you still have the save of it. If the events didnt work because the owner wasnt present, I think you could just save without saving ownership and then reload. It would replace his with yours and voila! It would work!

The playertype for Sky Captain is complete. Now I just need Bushido (or anyone else who wants to) to make:
I was thinking a weapon that shot 4 precise 40 damage shots when you clicked, it would 'cool down' for 2 seconds, then fire upon another click. I was thinking it would have no model, so if you could, try to just make it fire from the hand or something like that. If you could make it call skycaptainkill(); every time the weapon kills a player that would be great. This would be for Sky Captain.

Ok, uh, what do you mean 'four precise shots'? Is it four shots in rapid succession, or is it more like a shotgun?
