Author Topic: is it possible to UPDATE files on mediafire?  (Read 12960 times)

i have a list of rules for my server (downloaded) but i dont want to change the link everytime i update. anyway i can just update the file?

if you pay them some certain amount of money I think it protects you from ads and allows you to manage files better.

unless they've changed it recently, that is.

Updating a file allows you to submit a new version while still keeping the URL and download count of the original.  The process is irreversible however, so be careful when making the switch!

To update a file, upload the new version to the folder which contains the original.  Select both files, then click the "Open actions menu" button (which has a small gear icon on it) and choose Update File from the menu.  A dialog box will appear, telling you which file will be replaced by the other.  If necessary you can use the Swap button to switch which file is being updated.  Otherwise click OK to complete the file update process.

Please bear in mind that updating a file will delete the original, so you may want to back up the older file.  Also note that you can cancel the process by hitting Cancel.

The idea is to google search, or you know, use MediaFire's help/support section.
