Holy stuff. This is amazing.

But what else are you gonna add?
u know what you should add
my church has this chandelier
pretty thing it is, you should add one.

it's a pretty cool cathedral. the exterior has a damn nice overall concept and design

although, i think that is a bit over detailed

the interior is very nice, grand and simplistic

although, it may be a bit too open, which reveals A LOT of the tiled floors. (it isn't very pleasing for the eye to look at that repeated pattern, especially when the tiles have contrasting colours) I understand that it's still a WIP though, and i suggest that you fill up all that empty space with not just benches, but maybe rooms and hallways too or stuff like that, just so you don't have too much of the tiles showing.

people will probably go crazy over my "over detailed" comment with some kind of argument such as how cathedrals are supposed to be detailed.

my response to that is that there's too simple, simple, detailed, and over detailed. Cathedrals are certainly detailed, and if you Google search them, you will find some cathedrals that are detailed, and other cathedrals which are over-detailed. I personally think the over-detailed ones look very unappealing. There's just too much detail that it makes it look messy. That kind of stuff is more appealing to craftsmen, who look at the small things and how they were made.

Really?

I think it's fine

Thanks for your detailed response. It's certainly appreciated.
Concerning the over-done details on the exterior: this kind of architecture (Gothic) is known for alot of details. One prime example is the cathedral in Reims, or the facade of the Nidaros cathedral in Trondheim. Google them up to see what I mean. The point of the details is to create something heavenly on earth, something most people will never ever see again.
The architectural style you're looking for is called romanesque. Those churches are not very detailed.

About the interior: I'm aware of that. The interior is very WIP, however. It's supposed to be open, kind of like the german gothic cathedrals. I'll add more stuff to it, and I'll take a look at the floor again. The floor was mainly done this way to avoid spam. There are infact some cathedrals who have this kind of tiles, but I can't give you any examples right now.

That is art. Very good. It's refreshing to see such skill.

words can not discribe this build...so i give you cookies  :cookie: :cookie: :cookie: :cookie: :cookie: :cookie: :cookie:

This makes all my builds look crippled.

the labyrinth is national socialists

the labyrinth is national socialists
I think you are kidding, but in case you aren't:
I do NOT support national socialistsm, nor is this meant to represent national socialistsm in any way.

The swastika used to be a symbol of luck before Riddler decided to use it. It used to be a geometrical shape commonly found, simply because of it's simplicity. The swastika can be found in several famous cathedrals, including:

Amiens Cathedral, France:

St. Colman's Cathedral, Cobh, Ireland:

Christ Church Cathedral, New Zealand:

Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, England:

Hereford Cathedral, England:

Basically: As long as you don't intend to use the swastika to represent national socialistsm, there's nothing wrong in using it. All of the cathedrals above were built long before Riddler rose to power. I know there are bad memories associated with it, but after all it's just a geometrical shape.

Bump!

Not much pregress has been done, but I wanted you to know that there's a ongoing building competition where I am taking part. If you like my build, I'd appreciate if you voted for it. Check out the topic here.
Please check out the other submissions too. There are alot of good ones there! If you like them better than mine, vote for them! (obviously) ;)

Ontopic: Theres a tiny bit of progress on the interior, and the transept facades have been replaced with the one I showed earlier. I've also been working a little on the organ.

I think you are kidding,
I usually am

I can tolerate about ten minutes worth of serious discussion on the internet before I get bored

edit: and most of the swatstikas I see in BL are built by people like the craftsmen so you know what they're actually there for

To support national socialists?

Most of the swastikas built in BL are built by 10-year old kids who think they're "cool" for supporting the Holocaust. Little do they know...
