I'm attempting to tweak my way to Shaymin in Diamond, but I have to save while in the void so I'm terrified, if I forget up I hope I can just fly out I can fly out as long as I'm not in a building

Edit: God dammit I got forgeted up by invisible Teala, apparently there's a Pokemon center basement in the void

Shaymin caught in Diamond or Pearl can't turn into Sky Forme, just wasted like 4 hours doing this stuff and I decided to read the trivia on bulbapedia and saw that little tidbit, FML

Shaymin obtained in Diamond and Pearl are marked as caught, while Shaymin obtained in Platinum are marked as "had a fateful encounter"

You can only obtain the key item required to change forms with a Shaymin marked as "had a fateful encounter", regardless of which game you send it to
