Pandan just doesn't like the ice cream Pokemon because he was beaten with ice cream cones in a dark alley one day

did they just give up on pokemon and say "look at that object over there let's make it a pokemon"??
like no one already said this and like anyone thought this was funny presentation of the same joke

They gave up after diamond and pearl

I refused to play black and white. Ice Cream Cone. Pokemon..

Either you're blinded by nostalgia, or you haven't played the other Pokemon games if you think an ice cream cone is rediculous

So I know like everyone has probably already seen the new stuff by now but here it is anyway:

Xerneas is a Fairy-type with the ability Fairy Aura (powers up Fairy-type attacks) and signature move Geo Control, while Yveltal is a Dark-and-Flying-type with the ability Dark Aura (powers up Dark-type attacks) and signature move Death Wing.

Pancham's evolution is known in Japan as Goronda, it is the Aggressive Pokemon and stands 2.1m tall. It's a Dark-and-Fighting-type with an ability called Iron Fist and can learn Hammer Arm. Its evolution from Pancham is triggered by a new process that isn't described.

The squid Pokemon are part of the same family and are known in Japan as Maika the Rotation Pokemon and its evolved form Karamanero the Reversal Pokemon. They're both Psychic-and-Dark-type and have moves such as Hypnosis and Turn Over (the latter reverses stat changes). They can have Suction Cups or Contrary as their abilities.

The pink bird is known in Japan as Shushup, the Perfume Fairy-type Pokemon. It has the ability Healer and knows AromaTherapy. It joins the previously-revealed seahorse Pokemon Skrelp as a Y-exclusive.

The orange-clad people are Team Flare (or Team Flair, translation is unclear). They are the "Team Rocket" of the game and their sole purpose is to use Pokemon to make money.

The gentleman on the right is the Professor, his Japanese name suggests he will be Professor Platane (which is French for Sycamore). He actually battles the player from time to time.

The white puff-ball is known in Japan as Peroppafu, the Cotton Candy Fairy-type Pokemon. It has the new ability Sweet Veil which prevents allies from falling asleep. It learns a new moves called Drain Kiss. It joins the previously-revealed shrimp Pokemon Clauncher as an X-exclusive.

The two people on the bottom are Gym Leaders, on the left is stufforon (snicker), and the other is Zakuro.

Just some additional images and the legendary figures people get for pre-ordering through CoroCoro

Damn, this is all great.

I love how there is obviously some considerable theme towards Dark versus Fairy.
I'm guessing it's not so much Dark versus Light, as much as it is Nice versus Mean.

And I'm really interested to hear about a new evolution mechanic.
Although, judging by it being related to Pancham, I'm really hoping it's not like the reversal of Happiness based evolution.
Belittle your pokemon by feeding them crap loads of bitter food.

Oh, and were you saying that BOTH Skrelp and Shushup are Y-Exclusive, while BOTH Clauncher and Peroppafu are X-Exclusive?

I think I confused myself with what you were saying.

Not really seeing what's confusing about it but Skrelp & Shushup are Y-exclusive and Clauncher & Peroppafu are X-exclusive

Nothing really, I was just being stupid.

For some reason I read it like you were saying Shushup was Y-exclusive and Skrelp wasn't, and the same with Peroppafu and Clauncher.

I think I'm a little bit too tired at the moment.

goronda has a coat of its own fur? truly a cool pokemon

goronda has a coat of its own fur? truly a cool pokemon
Puts fur coat into a double-meaning.

What are the perks of pre-ordering Pokemon Y?

What are the perks of pre-ordering Pokemon Y?

Depends on what promotions your local retailers are doing

And really, it doesn't matter if it's not "creative" or "original".
How many other games do you get to fight using a living ice-cream cone, or weild the power of a pair of floating magnets?

The games are fun no matter what the Pokemon are based off of.
And even if you happen to dislike 5 of the 600+ Pokemon, just don't use those ones.
black and white really grew on me but the ice cream pokemon really do just look handicapped
i dont have a problem with them basing a pokemon on ice cream but the way they did it was awful, it was like if magnemite was literally a floating horseshoe magnet with eyes and nothing else

It's true...

Also that panda pokemon looks sick
But why does he have a cape? :(

I can see that the Vanillite line isn't the most attractive, although I do find Vanillite itself rather cute.

I was kind of expecting them to have something slightly more interesting to the evolved designs.
Maybe like having the new scoops being different colours.
Vanilluxe could have been three-headed Neapolitan Ice-Cream.

But it's alright to not like the Vanillite line for actual reasons.
It's just a nuisance when people will dismiss it, and even the entire game, simply because he's an ice-cream and not another elemental animal.
