you have to corner it off at the sea spirit's den!

What are IV's aaaah

Numbers randomly assigned to each Pokemon that give them extra stats (there's an IV for each stat).

When you run into the legendary birds, just encounter them like 11 times, then they'll appear at the sea spirits den for a real battle. The bird you encounter depends on the starter you chose. The location they're in changes every time you fly, until you encounter them enough times.

It's at least a sir doobly.

It is good though.

I made a stupid trade yesterday. Traded a clauncher for a charmeleon so I could get that evolutionary line.
Turns out I previously traded something for a charmander, so I had no need for the charmeleon.
So I had to trade my remaining skrelp for another clauncher, which I originally got for trading an earlier skrelp.
So now I'm down a skrelp and have an extra charmeleon.

I'm trading the charmander for a chespin though, hopefully.

there's no point in EV training off killing pokemon anymore because of super-training.

Apparently using power items + sweet scent to force horde battles and one shotting them with Surf/etc is all the rage because EVs transfer through EXP share. So you can max out a stat to 252 really quickly by doing that. However, if you want specific EV spreads (e.g. 192 HP / 64 Def / 252 SAtk) then super training is really useful for how easy it is to reset and then increment stats by specific amounts. That's why I've been using super training while I build my current team.
