That's how I felt lol. You just need in on a few multi battles to get a feel of everyone's abilities.

Lol you can easily make a competitive team with just Pokemon you enjoy. It really isn't hard to make a team out of anything and have it be effective. Unless you're playing 100% super serious you can manage with anything, and playing that way just isn't fun, it's why my team's made mostly out of what would be considered terrible Pokemon to use.
