The fact that he fed a kitten to his python does bother me somewhat, but i wouldn't freak out unless i actually saw it. hearing about it just irks me though. For that he shouldn't get any jail time.
But the fact that he recorded it, put Little Drummer Boy on it and uploaded it to youtube with the title 'Python Christmas' is definitely out of question and deserves punishment.
