Author Topic: My mom is in the hospital. (Read 2898 times)

Around 9:00 PM last night, my mom and dad went to the hospital because my mom had an unusually high heart rate. They stayed overnight, and my dad phoned at about 12:OO PM today to tell us she was in the ICU (intensive care unit) but she should be fine. My dad arrived home around 30 minutes ago (5:00 PM) and he said that she's staying another night. Hopefully she's home soon.

Well, at least she should be okay.

I'm still nervous. Would it be reasonable to stay home tommorrow? I'm just nervous and worried and scared.

Also I hope she pulls through, though it seems likely if it's heart rate problems (though I'm not a cardiologist or whatever they're called)

Being home would focus you on your worries. Going to school would allow you to put your mind on something else.

But I'd be worrying all day at school, and wouldn't get work done. If I stay home, I could just play games and focus on that. If I'm focusing on my mom, then I can just rest and try to get my mind off her, and then go back to what I'm doing. In school, i'm much more tense and whatnot.

Oh, and she had cancer when I was about 6 or so. I didn't know what was going on. I was at my grandparents' house for half the year. :c

Stay home. You won't be able to focus on school anyway.
