Somebody invent a portal gun and shoot one portal at it.
There's a second or two delay when you shoot at the moon, it doesn't travel faster than light speed. Plus, imagine how accurate you'd need to be, and what if it hit water or something rough?

also the planet is orbiting around the star so

I want to live on the dark side. Going to school at night would be cool. All the lights... Ahh that would be cool. Especially the new life forms.

first thing I do when I get there:

The moon isn't even a full light year away and it still took time to get there.

Are they able to travel 22 million years to get to another planet?

this would be more exciting if the person giving us the news knew how to type correctly.

Late, but this is exactly what I thought.

alien viruses and bacteria would be incompatible with ours, and therefore would not effect us.

But that's a 50% chance.
The other chance is that it would absolutely ruin a human, since our bodies aren't compatible with the bacteria.
