Author Topic: We found a new planet we can live on!  (Read 5507 times)

We know the speed at which the Earth must travel to stay in orbit. We have probably calculated the mass of the Earth. Using some magic formulas we can figure out the gravity of the sun.
maybe so, I might be wrong. But I might be right, there's a lot of things, I bet, that are like how people used to view gravity. People used to think a big rock fell faster then a little rock, nobody thought there was anything wrong with that idea, and it's wrong. There's a lot of things we assume with our calculations in space that I bet are wrong.

we already know the gravity strength of the sun
mysteroo you do not know what you are talking about

I admit that I don't spend my free time studying how scientists calculate gravity. But there is honestly no way that we can know for 100% sure how strong gravity is on the sun. Especially since it's gaseous.

He's not stating that we don't Exactly know what the gravity of the sun or any other planet is. He's stating that science is FALLIBLE and we have made poor estimates in calculation before. Be open to the idea of error, because science isn't perfect.

because science isn't perfect.
which is why religoen is the better argument xD

we don't know 100% for sure about anything except math
especially physics
crazy stuff going on out there

why do you have to mock religion in a conversation that has 0 to do with it? :P

also- ty tom, I guess I wasn't being clear enough. I have problems with that, lol

I'm not mocking religion at all I'm actually a Christian.

(it was a joke sorry)

oh ok, nvm then.
It isn't my fault! I was born with horrible social skills, blame my parents. I can't  make people understand what I'm saying, or understand what other ppl are saying most of the time XD

Off that subject, we should build metal bridges from planet to planet so bunnies can populate them on foot.

space elevators
Starclimber is a science fiction steampunk novel on the first space elevator.

Ha, I'm on my 3DS and I have it scrolled so I can see the entire post, but none of the avatars or username of posters, yet every post you or Kearn have made I've known was yours, just by how little sense they make.

Posts about religion are inevitable on a thread about science.

I don't want this topic becoming a stuffstorm so drop it.
