But how would you feel if your school, radio stations, every public building, etc, started Hanukkah celebrations everywhere, and not acknowledging Christmas?
Badly, because Christmas is awesome and Hanukkah is the holiday of giving away the 7 cheapest things on sale at Bloomingdale's. :c

I would say that 'censor' isn't exactly the most correct term.
But how would you feel if your school, radio stations, every public building, etc, started Hanukkah celebrations everywhere, and not acknowledging Christmas? Maybe you wouldn't care, but a lot of Christians would. It feels the exact same way for any other religion to see Christmas things everywhere. This is why many places have started doing just "Happy holidays" instead of "Merry Christmas"
I still don't think it's offensive or alienating to start a Christian group in a Public school. There is no reason for it to be wrong.

Rick Perry is such a... a uhh...

I forgot... Oops.
Pageloss THANKS TO MAGE

Neither do I, as long as the group doesn't do anything to get in the way, but that's not what this is about. How did you go from Christmas to student groups?

Wallace vs. Jaffree.
Which was about school organized prayer, not individuals choosing to pray on their own time, which is what Perry seems to think is not allowed.

Actually I was more focused on the student groups. I don't know how the topic went into Christmas.

Which was what Rick Perry was talking about. People are allowed to pray in in a group in schools as long as it is not including any school staff.

Also Christmas isn't a Christian Holiday, It was adapted by the Christians. So how is Christmas religious?

Because the Christians adapted it

I don't know how the topic went into Christmas.
You replied to me quoting a friend who altered Perry's quote of "...our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas..."

So how is Christmas religious?
It's religious because it celebrates the day that Christians believe that Jesus was born.
I'm all for taking religion out of it, and just have it about being with family and giving, etc, but we all know people wouldn't stand for that.

I certainly wouldn't be for taking Religion out of it or making it illegal in any way. They have just as much right to their own belief on the Holiday as we do.

Also I wasn't focusing on the Christmas part.

It's religious because it celebrates the day that Christians believe that Jesus was born.
It commemorates the day Jesus was born, but wasn't the day. It's date had to do with the Church, at the time, trying to ease Pagan converts into Christianity and to shift focus away from the Winter Solstice celebrations. Over time it and its traditions have become controversial to Christians and non-Christians alike (Perhaps not even over time. Since its creation many saw it as a false holiday). It is a conglomerate of traditions and beliefs that have become the beautiful ball of happiness that we know today. It is the perfect example of what can happen when, over time, people decide to embrace culture instead of rejecting anything unfamiliar. It is irreligious, but filled with Faith; Christmas is a holiday for anyone who can understand togetherness, kindness, and Love.

Thanks to commercialization, Christmas is for people who want free stuff.

I never said make it illegal, yes people have the right to believe whatever they want.
I'm just saying I wouldn't oppose celebrating Christmas by just doing stuff with family, without throwing religious stuff into it

Yeah, I know all that, I said what I said because almost every Christian I've talked to is like "OH IT'S JESUS'S BIRTHDAY" and don't understand the true origins
