The problem with the engine failure is figured out. On takeoff, the pilot had mixture full rich, allowing as much fuel to be flowed into the engine at full power as possible. However, when he got to his cruising altitude he pulled the power back, ignoring the mixture controls. The overwhelming pressure on the fuel line caused it to snap. All Po-2s are ungrounded and flying routine missions over the confederation.

The crew of the downed Po-2 has not been returned. This is getting suspicious.
