In creating a thread about reporting fads as well as titling it "Off Topic Copy Fads - By making a big deal out of them, they grow," you are making a big deal about it. It's very ironic that you made a thread about not fueling the fires when in fact you are.

On another note, no matter what you do there will always be those kinds of people who LOVE to fuel the fire that drives fads. Fads are like roosterroaches, whom we can attempt to exterminate, but never comepletely do it; eventually they will pop up time and time again and there will be someone there to make a big deal out of them, whether they be new or old forumers.
