Yes.  And slight movements of the hand that are very difficult to notice.  And their perception rolls have been failing, so you are fine for now.

Well, forget it.
Levitate the sticks about two inches above the ground in front of their feet, then ask if the skeletons could come closer.
Also, bow down to hid my face and stuff, just to be safe, and to "honor" the skeletons. Keep eyes slightly up, to watch their progress, and when they step forward, push the sticks forward as fast as I can, while still keeping my grip upon them. If my plan fails, drop the sticks immediately.
