  • Inspect the object to be pictured, find a color that does not occur in it. Opposites work best.
  • Create a glowing wall of empty prints behind the object that should be pictured.
  • Take a picture, making sure that the object does not extend beyond the wall in perspective.
  • Open the screenshot in Paint.NET or some other image editing program (nope, not Paint).
  • Select the background wall with Magic Wand (or whatever that tool is named in the program).
  • Press delete, optionally crop some of the empty area away, and done.
I used that method for my avatar... well I used Game Maker, but it worked out fine :D
