Got braces a year ago, and honestly I think your orthodontist sucks. Mine never hurt at all, even when they tightened them.

Enjoy dude, I've had them for a few months.
Wait till you get rubber bands, any tooth connected to the rubber band by the braces will hurt for a few days.

Also, I suggest you buy this thing called the waterpik
Go to the oral section, or explore the rest of the site.

complain for atleast 2 weeks and then you can start to eat things

I've had mine for about 14 months and it doesn't even hurt to get them adjusted anymore. Just need to get used to them.
