It's fairly old, as you should be able to see from the topic date. And yes, it is.

IMO, however, there have been enough CityRPs already, lately (Iban's new, Yorktown/Jasa's, Brian/Moby's (defunct), PSP's, Ravencroft's, the smart blockhead32's (WTH), War Monger's), would be fun to do something original for once.

Disclaimer: most of these were just ripped out of the server list, but still.

Only one still going is York's

Iban's new is still in dev, Brian's is defunct, all the others are currently hosting.

Alright, I'm a late monday, but I'm getting ungrounded tomorrow so I supposed I'll just post now.

I have Visual Studio 2010 Pro now, so I can do some stuff in that probably. Im richarding around with Unity3D and I've realized how loving awesome and easy to use it is, especially with JavaScript functionality. I recommend it to Serena's engine. I have a little more experience in JavaScript now, too.

Darkness, please change my languages to TorqueScript, JavaScript, and C#/F#(Some).

Personally, I hate Unity3D and I never want to use it, ever. Senera is not and never will be a game that runs on that engine. If I had a better choice of what engine it would run on, it'd be Rockstar's personal engine or possibly CryEngine with a corporate license. But I refuse to let it use Unity. I personally don't see the allure in it. Yes, it is easy to program, but when it comes down to it, ease is lesser needed than performance.

Implying Torque is fast.

Mp7964 I could make models and world objects if you script it

New Project announced!

More than just a CityRP

so we're gonna pool our coding resources together?
are we going to create a CRP from scratch?

Yep. We're going to be using Google Documents for easy collaboration. Ben is working on the models for the custom vehicles and weapons, and we'll be making the base mod.

Google documents? For coding? Whaaaaa?

I don't know about you guys, but I don't want to manually highlight syntax D:

Does anyone have a server they could setup a FTP account on where we could compile (read:put in one place, not compile like code) stuff?

I personally think that would be better, as Notepad++ (for one) has a built in ftp client.

Mercurial please, I could host it on my server. Also, you should try Sublime Text :D

Mercurial
"has a sane user interface"

Sublime Text
"the text editor that you'll in love with" - Doesn't have torque syntax :(

stuff these just sound peachy

I'm game for those suggested, but I definitely do not want google docs
