Author Topic: 9th Grade English is a Joke...  (Read 1423 times)

Well, I just got my progress report from school, and I'm really pissed off, my parents are pissed off at me, and my teacher is really dumb.

I know this sounds like some dumb rant, and I know there is a couple people who are going to troll/insult me, but whatever.

Anyways, I didn't finish an essay that I was supposed to do, because (and I'm speaking truthfully), I didn't have enough information. We had to watch a movie, and if you miss something (and most of the time I miss something) you don't get a second chance. So my only hope was IMDB, but it didn't have enough info. So then I was really screwed. It's bull stuff, and now I have a failing grade.

Tutoring after school

Buy the movie or talk to your teacher to see it again.
That, or make notes during the movie.

What movie? :o

Death on the Nile, we had to compare it to the book, And Then There Were None.

First option and second, nope, the essay has already been set in stone.

Third option, notes, that still won't help because I have a hard time taking notes during a movie. I usually take slow notes so I miss parts of the movie, if I do.

ooh, I like the part where the french belgian dude is cornered in his room by a snake

And Then There Were None? You mean the old black and white movie based on one of Agatha Christy's books?

loving love that movie.

Yeah...

comparing books to movies for school is stupid

ask your teacher if you can make the essay for maybe half credit?

I've gotten an A in literature in both grading quarters so far.

Though I dislike my history teacher a lot because she's very stupid. I'm not saying this because I have a childish discrimination against her for being a teacher, but she's legitimately stupid. She doesn't spell half the words correctly on our notes and can't pronounce words I've been saying fluently since first grade. But she's hot so yeah.

If more than half the class turned in their essay, than there's no reason you shouldn't have been able to. There's no excuse.

Writing notes during movie

>See important fact
>Write fact down
>Look up to realize that you just missed two more facts

stuff.

the lowest grade ("C") i had was in my high school junior year english class when we had to watch a ton of crappy movies and read old poetry and decipher the hidden meanings of each poem. my natural reaction was "forget this", so i wrote incredibly obvious things.

Why not have just rented the movie or watched it online?

My indonesian teacher gave everyone that didn't get 100% on a test detention, this is about skooly stuff so i guess its kind of relevant.
