Author Topic: Need some router help.  (Read 539 times)

So I am trying to play some Terraria online, but apparently my server is unjoinable now. So, I try to access my router to see if my ports were forgeted up, and fix them. No big deal.

Well, I try to conenct with the usual 192.168.1.254, but instead of being instantly greeted with a login/status menu, it googles the IP after a minute of connecting.

I tried Chrome, IE, and even Firefox, but nothing worked. What do?

Bump, because it's pretty urgent.

What kind of router do you have?

I've tried searching for this, but it's all a bunch of clueless adults trying to find the default password.

Well, I've no experience with Seimens routers, but you can try downloading and installing Simple Port Forwarding and seeing if it works. All it needs is your router brand/model and login (username, password), and then you're set to forward ports from there. I'd also recommend downloading PFPortChecker from this website. I've used both of these programs, they work really well.

EDIT: After checking SPF's list of routers, I see that your router is listed on it.

I have all my ports forward already, but I was just trying to make sure they weren't tinkered with for some reason. Now whenever I host no one can join, and it's pissing me off, to say the least.

I can't even access my own router. ;_;

EDIT: Would resetting to factory defaults fix this, or just waste my time even more than googling this.

No no no, see, SPF opens a little browser window of its own when you tell it to update the router after adding ports to be forwarded. You can use it to change stuff because it automatically connects to your router's setup page.

Ok, I tried using it, but when I picked my router it said the default router IP was 192.168.254.254. I entered it and I connected to my router.

This is strange to me, since it was 192.168.1.254.
Is Telus loving me over or something?

EDIT: All previous port-forwarding was turned invalid because it needed to be redirected to my new local IP or something. What is my ISP doing ;_;

Probably. But at least you can connect again, right?

Yeah, I just need to re-portforward everything.
Thanks for the help though. <3
