I wrote a chatbot in Blockland that worked almost exactly this way.
Then once I saw the earlier topic on this, I played around with it a bit and it gave me ideas for small improvements
I just want to add some way for it to answer questions (currently an "answer" is really just any old randomly generated sentence) and I'd be happy with it.

The biggest problem with having it learn from Blockland chat is that most of the words in its vocabulary are various misspellings of the same words.
