Author Topic: Youtube copyright cigarettes these days.  (Read 3929 times)

Millennium Entertainment Inc does not own any rights to the show whatsoever. I searched everywhere possible and nothing turned up.

You should stop complaining because it doesn't matter and whatever you were trying to show on youtube can be seen elsewhere.

Well if they own nothing I don't understand why they are picking on me then.

Copyright claims on YouTube are usually bullstuff. Anyone here remember the most famous Amnesia video ever? The guy constantly overreacting. Bag of Milky Ways. Well, that video was taken down months ago for copyright claims. Obviously there was nothing in there they could have copyrighted to that extent.

Hang on a forget.

What if this is SOPA's doing?

Hang on a forget.

What if this is SOPA's doing?

It isn't. This has been going on for... quite some time now, I can't exactly say.

If anything Time Warner technically owns the show, as Warner owns Turner Broadcasting System. Turner Broadcasting owns CNN, TBS and Cartoon Network.

Millennium Entertainment apparently helps get the shows on the air. Wikipedia says that they are a supplier that "acquires and distributes feature films, television series and specialty programming." I don't know why they would handle copyrights for something they don't own though.

I have no clue where Millennium Entertainment comes from.

Apparently they are an independent video service. Like hulu.

My video doesn't have a Millennium Entertainment watermark so they have no copyright claim.

It's likely Millennium Entertainment handles distribution of the seasons on DVD or something, and bought these rights some time after the show was cancelled.

Regardless, if you upload a TV clip and it gets copy right claimed, there's nothing you can do unless you actually own the clip.  You can't claim fair use if it's just a clip/snippet because you're just re-uploading part of their property.
