technically they don't have the right to take down the clip because it's legal as long as it's under 35 seconds. to avoid that you could also mirror the clip.

No, it's not legal.

And mirroring the video only stops YouTube's content ID system from detecting it. It can still be taken down for copyright if it's flagged manually.

it is because it's a short clip, not an episode. a clip of billy saying "oh you guys" isn't copy right infringement.

Youtube copyright claims are almost always for stuffty reasons anyways.

And I don't see those full anime episodes uploaded on youtube for about three years being taken down, which is pretty handicapped.

Fair use depends on the use of copyrighted material in relation to the whole. Including a short clip in a longer video comprised of content you made yourself is fair use. Uploading a clip comprised ONLY of copyrighted material is NOT Fair use, regardless of the length.

they're only taken down if the company wants it down
or some amount of other people flag it as the company's content (which is what happened with a couple of MLP episodes. you can tell because it said "third-party reports" of the content, rather than from the company itself)
so since nobody's really butthurt about the anime videos you're talking about, and the company is indifferent, they stay up

it's being used for something, regardless of what means it's being put onto the internet.

This is a third party company that doesn't even own the rights to this TV show clip.

they don't have to own it to report it

they don't have to own it to report it

Okay, okay, here is the part you don't get.

Yes Millennium Entertainment does not own the video. Millennium Entertainment is claiming that I am infringing their copyright. Their copyright does not exist!

what does the thing say that told you what happened

what does the thing say that told you what happened

Nothing.

It just says my video has been taken down for infringing blah blah blah.

okay well copy and paste that and post it here

That email is from a private World of Warcraft server.

You're getting trolled, but you still don't have the right to upload clips you don't own.
